Sebastien,
I used butyl tape the last time I removed and revarnished my handrails. It
was easy to do and not messy at all. I have had to tighten the handrails
several times and deal with the oozing butyl. Fortunately, I can chop it
off with a putty knife. No leaks!

Joe,
In Marion there are two yards...Bardens and Burr Brothers. Given a choice for
quality I would go with Burr (pricey though).
You may want to speak with Triad in Mattappoisett. Quality and reasonable
prices. Good guys too.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Kelly's has been bought by Fairhaven Shipyard couple years back...
They do big boats (fishing etc) well. Little ones? Dunno.

I thought Alligator tape was for bandages. It sticks for gelcoat and plastics
too? Where do you get it?

Jake,
That's what I want to do. Were you able to just back off the nuts and reuse the
hardware or did you have to drill the bungs and mount threaded inserts?

I stand corrected It was Burr Brothers that did the Catalina 36.
Great results...

Allen,
I was lucky enough to just get the nuts off this time. The first time I did
this project I had to remove some of the bungs. It wasn't a big deal, but
it added time to the project. I think I tapped the new bungs in tight
enough to hold the screw heads in place.

I think that's the name. Came from Home Despot as I recall. Any good tape will
work.

Hi,
A friend of mine did the job himself on his 29-II with the help and support of
the guys at Marsmetal in Ontario. He took the measurements, cut the keel
(chainsaw), draw the print and order the kit. It's a pretty big job, but very
feasable if you have the time to do it right. Probably fo
The real problem with reducing draft that way is that the keel and the
