I am In the process of replacing my instrument set which is housed in a NavPod 1x4 above the companionway mounted to a stainless steel U-shaped pipe bolted to a cross member of the hatch cover assembly. With some work, I managed to cut a 7/8" hole in this pipe and another in the binnacle guard
