Charlie, It's been a oldie but goodie topic on this list, but the proper way to torque the keel bolts is with the boat on the hard, in which condition the bolts are unloaded and torquing to spec gives the proper preload stress in the bolts.   Doing it in the water with the bolts under tension

I noticed a small water leak at the very aft end of the centerboard (cb) trunk/keel (where it meets the hull) of my 1995 C&C 36 XL/kcb while she was hanging from the travel lift awaiting to be splashed. It is not anything like the C&C 'smile'. My assumption is that it was bilge water seeping o
