If I may be so bold as to make a suggestion...this is not the only C&C
list, there is also one on Yahoo which is sitting dormant. It may be a
better venue for a technical discussion like this, plus you have the
advantage of posting pictures, etc. Many of the old-timers here are also

Well, Fred, he was addressing ME, and
basically was patronizing, dismissive, and ended by saying I could
like it or lump it. He also characterized what was being proposed
as no different than discussing how to fix a furler. I feel my
response was quite measured a

expressing his opinion in a non-confrontational way. Calling him “rude and
belligerent” is a bit of the pot calling the kettle black.
My opinion — and therefore worth what you paid for it.

No one's being swamped and the list isn't being monopolized. Also, this
conversation is as C&C specific as the recent conversation on Harken roller
furler, adjustable car leads, AGM batteries and a host of other dribble.

Sorry, but now you are just being rude and belligerent. What is being
suggested is using this list as the home base for a project. It would be
decidedly off-topic to do that. It would involve a LOT of emails over
more than a week or two. We've seen what British Sports Cars can do to
this list.
