Thanks for everyone's advise on this topic. I did remove the small elbow and it was clogged. Once unclogged (and a coathanger jigged around inside the exhaust manifold hole) and reassembled water flow is returned and she is "gushing". It even seems to rev up higher than than previously. D

I drilled out the buildup in the small right-angle fitting going into the elbow, which gave me another year. I was surprised it took a drill to clean it, but it wasn't going anywhere with a gentle touch. I replaced the mixing elbow the next year. Now I just figure it's something that needs replacin

Kinda what I meant. I usually pull the mix elbow so I can make sure it's clean. If you can remove the hose and its small elbow, clean it and clean its entrance into the mix elbow, that works. The couple of Yanmars I work on for this issue have easily accessed mix elbows. In fact, I think it's

But his issue isn't with exhaust getting through the elbow, the issue is with water getting into it - so my money is on the little right angle elbow into the mixing elbow. I've had the gasket for a year for removing the mixing elbow to check it, but it never makes it to the top of the list. Gr

Hi Dave I had this problem when we bought SP, little or no water was making it through, and it turned out to be the right angle elbow was clogged. I cleaned it out and she's run fine ever since. I took the right angle elbow off of the mixing elbow, it just unscrews. Graham Collins Secret Plan

It's almost certainly the mixer elbow. I replaced it on my 2GM20F a couple of months ago. Take the manifold and the elbow off as one. (You won't be able to separate them anyway.) There are four bolts where the manifold connects to the engine. A new manifold, elbow, connector and gasket cost m
