Starbrite Teflon grease is $10.99 for a 4 oz bottle at West Marine. It is
labeled as PTEF trailer hitch lubricant, in case you have trouble locating
it. Works great for the bearings if you are rebuilding the pedestal.

just fine. Would suggest sticking to the Teflon as any other type will
eventually build up
Hi Tom,
I have forgotten the "switch on" a few times. You will lose a few
amps to alternator field current and that's about it. In my case I
can get a reminder thump from my electric fuel pump impulse (once in
awhile) if I'm paying attention.
Edson recommends SuperLube as "or equivalent". T
