I don't know, but I can tell you one choice which does not work for long, and that is EPDM foam rubber weather stripping tape. I used that to try and at least partly seal my lazarette lids, and the result was as you describe. Permanently compressed and useless. Steve Thomas C&C27 MKIII Port
