I was taking a shower in my marina's shore head a couple weeks ago. I touched the trim ring around the shower valve and felt a slight shock. After I finished, I got my multimeter and measured 7.5 VAC from the trim ring to the shower drain fitting. The next day the harbormaster and I flipped break

The question of eliminating the ac-dc ground connection if an ELCI is installed is an interesting one and I'm glad that Paul brought it up. There's no question that isolating the ac green wire ground from the boat's dc ground system will eliminate dc current flowing through the shore power system.

I disagree with this. I have had a galvanic isolator since about 1995 or so. Mercury Marine sold them to keep their outdrives from dissolving back then and I grabbed one. I can go on for a while about how they work, but the short version is every boat at the marina is wired together by the groun
