Fred,
Just wondered if I am correct that Raymarine Axiom 9, which I have with
Navionics+, still does not have a night mode similar to Garmin? When I
discovered that, I contacted their support guy (Charles, Chuck) and he
indicated they did not have a night mode. He started a ticket on that

No one seems to mention that on some C&C's the stanchions protrude
enough so that they will catch as you come in or out of a slip that has
pilings or boards on the finger pier. Unless someone is on the boat to
assist in keeping that from happening, one is likely to destroy a
stanchion. I have

It was sunny and nice and I had been putting the project off for a

mistake. I did, but won't go into those now. Suffice to say, I did get

My Navtec hydraulic backstay tensioner blew a seal in the middle of the

I rebedded Wind N Spirits chainplates with 4000. Worked great and no

My insurance is with Boat US, and my rates did not go up. Since I sail
on Lake Michigan and not in coastal areas or waters, I speculate that
location may have something to do with it. We don't have hurricanes
here. I also speculate that the hurricanes which have destroyed so many

Mike,
I have a 1981 C&C 36 with Rod rigging. It has winches, etc. for racing.
I am 70, and would have very little problem sailing her by myself,
provided I rigged her up for that purpose. You must have roller
furling. You should have the jib halyard and main halyard lead aft so

How did you decide it was the controller and not the compressor? Is
there a way to test to determine if the current controller is bad? My
controller is a 102N3030 12V DC with a 15 amp fuse. I believe the
digital control that you found on line will work in my boat, but I hate

I am contemplating replacing my 6 gallon Raritan hot water heater with

Fred,
Thanks for the help. It was very valuable and I am on my way to getting
applications completed.

If a boat crosses from the United States in to Canada and stops at a

I have a 1981 C&C 36, and it is keel stepped, not deck stepped. Even if
your mast is keel stepped and you were some how going to raise it a bit
without completely removing it, I would suggest that the process would
be risky. Better to take it out and investigate the problem completely.

I was wondering if anyone knew what brand, type, etc. single pole

installed on a 1981 C&C 36? My original panels are in great shape, but

I am a member of the c&c list and I am receiving copies of all e-mails.
Please don't sent them to me as I don't want them. It is clogging up my
