Universal Diesel 5424 here. According to the manual, this engine has 5.6QT
of engine oil. Last season and today, both times I use oil extractor
through the dipstick hole, could only get a little over 3 quarters out.
Is this normal, or am I not doing it right?
thx in advance.

yet another question for experienced sailors:
today I was winterizing my boat, I found sitting water in my compartment
under the cockpit storage, not a lot, but there was some. my boat was
already out of the water. I found it actually came from the spot in the
picture below:
https://drive.google.
I googled around and saw one sailor suggested using diluted bleach, is that
a good idea?

Hi,
Again a simple question that I have for experienced sailors.
In the past I have had the marina to "bottom wash" my boat when they do the
haul out. This year I wanted to do it myself (want to save myself a few
bucks), however this is not going to be at the time of haul out, but a
couple weeks
l but really not.

Hi everyone, I am coming back to this.
Today I took a look at what is inside the screw holes of the cabin, I used
a picking tool to bring out what appears to be "chip" like material from
inside the hole, wet, I am thinking it does not look like wood, more like
wet fiber?

Continuing my adventure with sailing and my boat...looking for advise from
experienced sailors, as always...
Today as I was observing the hull condition, I found that my rudder had the
seam showing in this picture:

Question to experienced sailors, I just got an opportunity to have a slip
on Lake St.Clair, Belle River marina, how have your experience been sailing
on Lake St.Clair?
We were on Lake Erie for a couple of years and my wife and son felt
sometimes the choppy waves were making them uncomfortable. Wou
