Since 2016, Red Sky a 1976 C&C 24 has been an exceptionally fun sailing
yacht for its me. I am interested in moving up to a C&C 30 MKII after over

I wonder how the wing keel performs. Chesapeake PHRF rating is 180 vs 150
for standard keel.

Beginning in 1979, it was Don and Jean Wagner who introduced me to sailing
on their C&C 30 MKI Red Baron on the West River and Chesapeake Bay . Don
and Jean, and their family where great to sail with and learn from.

1976 C&C 24
I had my C&C 24 Soda blasted in 2016. Awesome! I then did 3-4 coats of
interlux barrier coat, then ablative anti-fouling paint.
I did some fairing and minor sanding. Fixes a keel smile with rebed, too.
Surveyor this past spring gave me a passing grade on all.

I have used the bionics GPS with my Kenwood APRS enabled VHF HT for ham
radio applications.
However, for my C&C 24, I will be using my Garmin GPSMap78sc connected to
my new Raymarine ST1

4 years ago, the parents of one of the HS cross country athletes I coached
gave me a 1964 Pearson Hawk 15.5' day sailor. It had been sitting under a
walnut tree for 16 years. It was a mess on a trailer.
I power washed it inside and out and then went through the process of
restoring it.

for the St. Mary's Governors Cup race. I am registered CHESSS. If we
don't get enough to split the group into spin and non-spin, I'd like to

Frequently in the Chesapeake Bay we get similar conditions. We sail short

I have a 155, 150, 135 and small storm jib. I was thinking of a 100-110%
could be useful for the sail arsenal.

Chesapeake PHRF rules states for the for the Corinthian class:
"All normally installed equipment including doors, tables, stoves, head
equipment, floorboards, cushions, etc. must be carried in their normal
position while sailing"

When I pulled my C&C 24, I had a little keel smile, too.
I got the yard to work with me to brake the keel bolt nuts free. It
required just a little heat, too.
We then raised the jack stands so I had about 3/4"-1" gap between the keel
and the bottom of the boat. I really could not have gone more

had the hull soda blasted. There were many years of unnecessary
anti-fouling paint built up and flaking off.
