Our beloved 33-2 has not splashed yet but we are already thinking about fall
boat show season.
In 2016 we visited the Newport boat show and are now thinking that it might be
fun to plan a trip in October to the Annapolis boat show. But is it worth the
trip compared to Newport?

For many years I've been wanting to check my keel bolt torque and after a light
grounding last year in anchorage, I acquired the tools and was shocked this
last weekend to find all nuts measured 35-50 pounds of torque. For my '81
C&C34 with 1" rods in the keel, the torque should be closer to 35
That makes sense. The captain in the slip next to my 24 referred to her
as a "ton and a half", but I knew he was referring to displacement.
That's why this quarter-ton term mad me wonder. Thanks.

Quarter-ton, half-ton, and so on had to do with IOR ratings, not the weight of
the boats.
Kind of like how 6 meter boats aren't 6 meters long and 12 meter boats are not
12 meters long 😉
