Not counting the first split second, the current should be 1.5 - 3 times the running current of the a/c. The home a/c units run on 240 V; yours, iirc, is running on 120 V, which already makes it a higher current application (2x). At 1.5 kW, we are talking 20- 30 A on the high voltage side, I.e.

Its not running the A/C that will be a problem. Its starting it up. If you watch your amp draw when tied into the 110v, you will see a sharp spike upon start-up (I forget how much) and then settles down when running. I would bet that the A/C will trip the inverter at start-up. From: T Sutton
