On the top spreaders the shape and shroud position in the tip may be symmetrical. On the lower spreader the tips are designed to accommodate 2 different sized shrouds. One forward of the other. Assuming the top and bottom of the spreader are clearly defined it is not beyond the realm of possibil

and that leads me more to believe the manual I saw. The lower attaches to the spreader base in the forward part of the spreader. Putting it on the rearmost position on the chainplate essentially has it crossing the other two shrouds. However it's not apparent because it's coming in at an angle. B

Long time lurker occasional question asker... Question came up at our club between 3 of the 33 MkII boats we have which was the correct orientation of the three shrouds. The intermediate clearly goes in the center of the base but the upper and lower could be swapped. Swapping them means swapping
