Some things to consider when insuring your boat: Make sure you have fuel
spill coverage - $500, 000 or more. Also, don't insure your boat for more
than it's actually worth. Hull insurance is the biggest cost of your
insurance. Finally get lots of liability insurance. That's the most
reasonable
I am super impressed with their rates and service.
My boat was hit at the dock three days after I took delivery, Thank god for
surveys, the owner of the boat attempted to claim they did not do the damage.
The Survey and witness saved the day. I paid to have the boat repaired
immediately (right
Larry,
American Family is based here in Wisconsin and I can second your opinion. I
have had all of my insurance with them, including the boat for nearly 30 years.

Something interesting. I just went to Seaworthy’s website and was redirected
to Geico Marine Insurance (which now serves Boat U.S.) I requested a quote
using Geico’s free quote system, and I used the same information (more or less)
as my current coverage. The free quote was approximately half
I live on the west coast of Florida, on an island called Tierra Verde. I had
Progressive for years because it had a good deal for smaller, older boats in
the hurricane zone – about $500 a year for 10K coverage and, more importantly
here, liability and full salvage, in case the boat gets whacked
When I purchased my boat I did a lot of shopping around.
I went with American Family Insurance. Fantastic company. If I could have them
for all my insurance needs, I would. But I have had my home and auto with Geico
for over 40 years and my discounts cannot be beat.
My boat insurance is through
Seaworthy is owned by Warren Buffet. They are the carrier for BoatUS. I had
a similar experience.

Just saw it. It’s a depth meter but it’s a great price for someone with an

Sail boat swap shop on face book has a new, never installed st60 for sale

My insurance is with Boat US, and my rates did not go up. Since I sail
on Lake Michigan and not in coastal areas or waters, I speculate that
location may have something to do with it. We don't have hurricanes
here. I also speculate that the hurricanes which have destroyed so many
boats are m
Headstay length for a 30-1 appears to be between 40 and 41 feet. Looking at the
luff length and the foot length vs. J of a 30-1, it would appear that the 1st
sail (with a luff of 39’) is a 90% Blade, while the shorter sail is a 115%
Lapper. The lapper actually has more sail area than the blade.
When I was shopping for insurance for our current boat, $85k value, boat us was
the highest. I went with a company called seaworthy (just a coincidence).
They were 1/2 what boat us wanted. They have since been bought by gieco which
now owns boat us I'm told. Strange...
