You mentioned using a soft shackle for each sheet but from your post I'm
assuming you have not tried it.
I'd be interested if anyone has because I can't figure out how you would do a
sail change upwind with a single soft shackle through both sheets unless one
uses a changing sheet.

Light green stack pack with battens and lazy jacks, in good condition and
just cleaned. Off of a 33 mk 1 and would fit anything with comparable P and
E dimensions.

And of course, you have to sail the right angles downwind, where a polar
diagram and great crew work on gybes will help greatly. 100 degrees apparent
or less under 6kts true for us.
