[clug-talk] dual boot problem

After dozens of successful dual boots with Ubuntu and other Debian-derived distros (3D!) I've encountered my first unbootable machine tonight, with the little-loved error message "Missing operating system". I've got Windows 7 back now with the boot flag on the primary partition device, but no grub

'Tis my third day in town, and I find myself wondering where the internet cafes and better wifi locations are. I have a map of the free wifi network in Edmonton (saved from screen capture so I don't have to be online to find access), but I don't know of anything similar here. Suggestions, anyone?
