I use a Perl application called "BackupPC". It uses rsync/tar/CIFS, but has a few features that make it stand out for me. - If multiple clients have the same file only one copy is pulled into the backup. It doesn't seem like a big deal until users start sharing videos of cats. - It has a nice web
