Okay, so we can do two things have a set of offerings provided via
devcloud/devcloud-kvm.sql or users are free to create their own offerings.
We can add the small/med/large offerings such as 1/5/10GB offerings (local and

Not needed, devcloud is just a host+nfs replacement all in a box, what we
should version integration tests should be against xen(xcp)/kvm version (i.e.
host version).
I think goal should be latest integration tests on master should work on latest
devcloud.

Cool, let's do both and have primary nfs and local storage. While having local
storage will be better for vm life cycle.
Yes, let's do this. Marcus, do you want me to create a new image with these
changes? I can do that this weekend.

I'm going to wait on the reverts for CLOUDSTACK-306 and CLOUDSTACK-312

Great, thanks, Marcus.

For those interested, I found a way around this.
1) I made sure that all of the instances that were in an endless stopping
state were indeed stopped.
2) Logged into the mysql db as root and selected the cloud db
3) Ran sql: update vm_instance set state = 'Stopped' where id = ;
4) Went to the MS in
Looks like with iSCSI you give it the dns name of your target, the IQN, and
the lun #. Presuably it sets up an SR from that lun and carves volumes out
of that, similar to how the CLVM works. Or maybe it puts a filesystem on it
and mounts it, not sure.

Edison,
I think we are speaking past each other a bit. My intention is to separate
logical and physical storage operations in order to simplify the implementation
of new storage providers. Also, in order to support the widest range of
storage mechanisms, I want to eliminate all interface assu
OK, thanks, guys!

On the KVM side, you can do NFS, Local disk storage, CLVM (shared block
device that has Clustered LVM on top of it, a primary pool is a particular
volume group and cloudstack carves out logical volumes out of it as
needed), and RBD (RADOS Block devices, Ceph shared storage. You point it at

+1 We're struggling with the merge right now so one more merge is not going to
hurt very much.

So, being new to CloudStack, I'm not sure what kind of storage protocols
are currently supported in the product. To my knowledge, NFS shares are
what CloudStack has only supported in the past. Does CloudStack support
iSCSI targets at present?
Thanks!
