Drinks + Clojure sounds like a good idea for me. What time will it
be?

I'm interested in the core.logic and the web and clojure sessions.

It may be easier to convince him by explaining how much time it is
going to cost to do conversion. Abstract computer science terminology
isn't always that convincing to managers, but explaining how much time
will be wasted is.

It looks to me like it will have decent potential once all Google's
services get integrated it in. So you can post stories from Google
News and Google Reader, share Google Docs with a circle, create a
circle based on a Google Group and all its members automatically get
added...
Oh well, until then
"Many managers, understandably, go with a technology with
heavy library support and lots of developers. The common critique that
Lisp
isn't practical in industry, comes from that position. But Clojure,

The library part, ok, sure (but if I'm writin

I think my notes from that talk read something like this:
Bring hammock to work. :)
Go to sleep sober. :(

Ugly? Aww, I thought the ^ metadata looked kinda cute...
It is a bit awkward that defn- exists and not def-, but it seems defs
are not going to be as common as defns (though I'll admit I haven't
written or read enough complex idiomatic Clojure code to know for
sure). And if you really want to be
Hi, I'm wondering if there is a good way to test if a given sequence
is lazy, and if so, how much of it has been evaluated. I know the
fact that it is lazy should be transparent, but I'm thinking in the
context of unit testing knowing that could be valuable. For instance

One problem I've heard with creating Android apps in languages such as
Clojure or Scala is the dependencies (in Clojure's case, probably
clojure.jar and clojure-contrib.jar) that are brought in increase the
size of the app. Those dependencies may be very small when deployed

We could set up a web app that uses data mining algorithms to analyze
people's interests, experience with Clojure, industries they work in,
Myers-Briggs type, and other information to put together compatible
small groups of people.
I just had a "How big of a nerd can I be?" moment. But that doesn
As opposed to other times in which DC metro traffic is any better?
That's actually what I'm braving Saturday evening as I'm leaving the
conference early to get to my high school reunion.

We've got one in the Raleigh area that, while not specific to Clojure,
it is a common topic (along with other JVM based languages such as
Scala and Groovy):

Though a Clojure specific meetup would be nice, I know for a fact
there are other Clojure users here.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. A conference I want to attend right in my
backyard and its the same weekend as my high school class reunion...
