Hello,
in the process of the installation of a software package it need to
stop any running instanc of freshclam.
This was done with a invoke-rc.d stop clamav-freshclam. However it takes
several minutes and we want to speed up the process.
Now we use SIGKILL to stop it faster, but we don't know
I Upgraded from 0.88.6 to 0.90.3. I did a make uninstall of 0.88.6 and then
built 0.90.3 from source.
No errors during compile. When I run clamscan or freshclam, I'm receiving:
clamscan: error while loading shared libraries: libclamav.so.2: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or dire

Hi,
i'm using Clamav inside the Zimbra Collaboration Suite on ubuntu 6.
Clamav version 0.90.2, on ubuntu 6.06.1 server. This behaviour
happened with 0.90.3 too.
I see that amavisd cannot connect to Clamav

The clamd is started with the option "--config-file
/opt/zimbra/conf/clamd.conf" so i started the clamconf with the option
"--config-dir /opt/zimbra/conf/".
Here is the output:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/clamav/bin$ ./clamconf --config-dir /opt/zimbra/conf/

Very strange, because it is a fresh zimbra install into a fresh
ubuntu, i usually don't have to modify ANY config file.
Also, the comment in the config file says:

Ok.
I tried to manually start clamd and telnet locally to it

I want clamd and freshclam (running in daemon mode) to create PID files
in /var/run. Both are running as user and group "amavisd". Amavisd
does not have permissions to create files in /var/run.
What is the best (safest) way to give amavisd permissions to create the
PID file in /var/run?
Thank

Christian,
Did you try to recompile clamscan?
Regarding freshclam, Are you sure you are running the
new version? Maybe an old copy still exists...
Check for broken links in /usr/lib/libclamav*
I've seen similar issues in the past. Hope this helps.

Hi Marco,
I don't use Zimbra, but I use postfix and amavis and I
had the same experience with both 0.90.2 and 0.90.3. I
had to go back to 0.90.1. I did a post on this before.
