Hi Ed
I have restarted the daemons and checked that syslog and clamav-milter .conf
are set to log but still nothing.
I also did a test by sending myself the eicar virus and it was rejected but
it never appeared in my maillogs.

If clamd and fresclam are bot
What about version numbers ? What about ClamAV 1.0 ?

That makes perfect sense, but for some reason isn't helping. I changed
DatabaseOwner to "amavis" in /etc/freshclam.conf and I'm still getting
the same error. I tried restarting the clamd service and that didn't
make any difference either.

I'm getting an error that I don't understand. Here's the brief
summary, followed by the wordier explanation:
Brief:
$ freshclam
ERROR: Can't open /var/log/clamav/freshclam.log in append mode (check
permissions!).
ERROR: Problem with internal logger (UpdateLogFile =
/var/log/clamav/freshclam.log).
Hello all:
I was wondering if any had heard any updates on when there'll be a fix
for the p5-Mail-ClamAV port. It's noted that it's broken (it doesn't
work with the new ClamAV 0.95), but the notes haven't been updated in 6
days or so. I can't install MailScanner until this is fixed (I think).
Not to ask the obvious or anything -but- did you restart the daemons?
Have you checked syslog and any other log settings in clamav-milter.conf?
Did you run any tests?
