Is this something that needs to be run?
I'm running qmail-ldap and expected simscan to call
clamd for each email msg received..
Nothing is happening as far as I can see in the log files
and email headers.
Thought I'd seen all of the doc's but

You want to look at the qmail-scanner docs, not ClamAV, that's where the
"notify" flag is set.

After I killed all of the running clamdscan proccesses I am able to
scan that directory.. is there a connection limit to clamd or
something that I am missing and needs to be set?

Why not just go to internet-cafe and look at documentation at
www.clamav.net ? All Your questions are explained there.
Get a good coffe and read a little.
