How can I use Chirp to re-use One Master File for multiple Radio Brands &
Models?
Our Church in Northeast Texas has over 400 licensed hams with various
brands & models of Ham Radios.
Is there some way for me to build One Master file of Repeaters that
everyone can use to put all of us on the same o
If you're not configuring specific settings on the radio, perhaps you could
distribute a CSV of the channels that they can import into CHIRP? At the
very, very least, it'd be readable in Excel/LibreOffice/Google Sheets if
for some reason it wouldn't import.

Yes. Build your master file as you would, say, a Lotus 1-2-3 file.
Save it. You should already have the radio-specific files downloaded
from each radio when new. Open the file whenever you wish. Place your
cursor in the upper left-hand corner of the spreadsheet. Drag it to the
lower right
P.S. If you do not have all 400 files on your computer, have each
member send you their file as an attachment to an email. Open their
Chirp file. Then open the master file and follow my previous
instructions. Save the file with its new date and attach it to an email
and send it back to them

Using your UV-5R on FRS frequencies will be a violation of Federal Law.
That radio is not, nor can not be, type accepted for that service.

I do believe that the FCC has allowed some of the FRS frequencies, now up to 2
watts.
To answer the question, make sure the same frequencies are in the column next
to the receive column.
I don't recall if they are labeled RX and TX or what.

Let me rephrase this question.
I legally purchased 10 motorola talkabout radios.
I legally purchased a Baofeng UV 5r to communicate with different radios,
legally.
I appreciate the hypervigilance and concern for legalities, but my question
remains.
Please, anyone not referring directly to how to

Todd,
You are not licensed in the FCC database under any service, I just did a
search. The majority of us on this list are licensed Amateur Radio operators,
and one of the tenets of the Amateur Radio service is that we are self-policing
so that we get to keep and enjoy the freedoms in our servic

There's always 97.403, which allow using "any means of
radiocommunication at its disposal to provide essential com
The UV5R is illegal on FRS.
The reason is because they are not type accepted.
Main reason is because the antenna can be removed and replaced with other
antennas.
FRS radios have fixed antennas.
