I have programmed mine with chirp and a
standard usb mini cable. Only thing I had to do was trim some of
the insulation on the plug because of the round recess around the
socket.

It will work with the yaesu supplied cable, which is a straight USB to
micro cable.
If you use a third party cable be sure it fits into the radio correctly.

FT70D is listed but not the DR. Maybe take a look to see the differences?
Probably the same or almost the same radio.
You will need a programming cable if your radio didn't come with one.
