I recently had trouble programming a Baofeng UV 8 HP
No matter what I did, it would not take any frequencies, using the latest
Chirp, from about a month ago.
I finally booted to my windows 7 that I have in a VM, with an old chirp on it,
and it programmed just fine.

In addition to what Jim said, there's not really any error message chirp will
tell you that is even close to "don't have the right drivers." Please show a
screenshot and/or provide more detail so we can try to help you.
