I keep seeing references to this program but how I should use it is not at
all obvious to me. I've tried asking it for help and even asked it for
help with certain commands but none of it makes sense to me. I am not
Linux literate by any stretch so please tell me step by step what to do.

Unfortunately, "invalid option" could be any number of potential problems.
I don't know what "using Ubuntu software" means. Which "ubuntu" software
were you using?
I'm running Debian and run my software from the terminal.

I wonder what happens if you just drop the extent?
Is the provider actually doing a deep inspection of
the file (which should show that it is not what they
think it is) or are they going by the extent. Remember
that extents were a DOS thing, I remember when
you rarely saw extents in *nix like syst
Hi Anne - type

to start chirp, i.e., to see it was installed correctly.
The drivers may be out dated but updating them is relatively simple.
Also, chirp's flatpak version doesn't work for Linux running on an ARM
processor - it only works on Intel x86.

Guy,
This has become an issue in recent months. Many email providers are
blocking the transfer of CHIRP "image" files. Even if they are in a ZIP
archive, they are blocked. Do you have or can you start a dropbox account
that you can upload the "image" to and then email a link to me to share it?

Hey Guy,
Try renaming the .IMG to .TXT and Jim can rename it when he gets it.

Glenn, that's a good idea about exporting to csv and editing in libre

think Jim could be onto something with a setting being out of range. I
did send my baofeng .img file so he can examine it. Thanks much for your

I tried to send this off-list, but it failed.
