The problem was STUPIDITY. I had thought I had seen that the Wouxun
KG-UV8E was now supported by the KG-UV8plus module.
No it isn't.
Stupid me!
I load the kguv8dplus.py that Pavel had made for us to support the
KG-UV8E (and T) versions - the triband versions. And CHIRP works!

folder on Linux, no idea where in Windows)

right side has 144 MHz & 430 MHz.
