We use ceph iscsi with vmware. Mainly for disks in veeam to backup some
other vmware clusters with local disks.
No problem so far. I think really depends on the usecase

share to partners. You would better off to use iscsi. By the way, i found that
the performance is much better for SCST than ceph-iscsi. I don't think
ceph-iscsi is production-ready?
