Try just doing:
yum upgrade maven2
OR
yum update maven2
All you have to do is specify the package name along with the yum command. It
will then only update the one package instead of everything system wide.

There was an issue with software collections being missed as well but that
seems to have fixed itself yesterday as i see that the software collections are
now updated as well.
