Create a sparse file on NFS and mount it as a loopback filesystem.

I am having an extremely strange issue with a BL460c1 (G1) blade on a
c7000 enclosure. I could not for the life of me get the machine to ping
the gateway or any other blade on the same enclosure (yes, the subnet
mask was correct & quadruple-checked); although pinging to the local IP
works. I wa

Don't use nss-pam-ldapd and pam_ldap. Remove the packages entirely and
install sssd. You'll still use authconfig to configure LDAP
integration, but you'll get a stack
Hey Y'all,
Recently my sound has been misbehaving. The issue exists when I play
sound using Rhythmbox, Totem Movie Player, or even Youtube video in
Firefox or Chrome. The sound stutters and drops out. Sounds very
rough. On Youtube the sound will eventually just die and can not be
restarted

I wasn't previously aware of that, but I just st
I have a CentOS 5.8 box that is dropping packets (just from ping).
The network is 8139 RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ Rev 10
Adding the parameters "pci=noacpi acpi=off "
has helped but it still happens.
Is there something else that helps the network not drop packets?
Thanks,
jerry

apparently, your device driver doesn't like your forced setup, as you
can see from the traceroute. I think you can try to install another
driver to see if it works fine for you.
Also, you can check the switch side. Seeing what the switch says about
the interface you connected to. Dropping or so
Is there any chances you can send in the stats of the interface? Just
show if the driver says why it's being dropped.
