following the advise from Les concerning CentOs - ltsp,
I'm now trying to set up a *kickstart *server, as I will have to install
14 ltsp servers.
I must admit the number 14 is not my only motivation, in a first attempt
I downloaded 7 cd's -and got stuck
when installing from nr 6 ,

I have rebuilt all our source RPMs on CentOS 6 and found they sometimes
differ in directory permissions compared to those built on CentOS 3, 4 and
5.
The problem is that %defattr overrides %attr on directories. Have a look
at this example spec file:

I can get the kickstart command line with /proc/cmdline
it looks something like x ks=http://192.168.1.8/ks/ks.cfg xx
in the %pre sections of my ks.cfg I was wanting to extract the IP from
the ks= part.
I was going to utilize the "tr" command but its not available in %pre.
