Hi
Well we are now using HP instead of Dell and have hit a major hurdle. We
dont seem to be able to kix any of these boxes. I have been most
recently trying on a dl585 and the issue appears to be that the kix
kernel does not detect any nic. Its strange as the box can be installed

How old is the DL585? There were a bunch of firmware issues with the
Broadcom NICs on the DL585, and HP released a firmware update,
something like 18 months ago now, that fixed problems that I was
having with some DL585's.

What is the mechanism or procedure for installing additional packages from the
six CentOS 5.0 CD's using Yum, assuming a secured server with no outside
internet connection?
Debian based distributions are able to use the package manager to search for

FYI:
Upon installing 64 bit firefox on RHEL 5/Centos5/SAL5 , the first problem
everyone seems to complain about is no working java plugin. A patched
plugin from the Blackdown Project was available, but it was
written against the vulnerable JRE 1.4.2.
I too gave up on this until I discovered R

I have a php script which can make the contents of the DVD available via
http. With one download and one lot of disk space, you can have the DVD
image and a web install (without the hassle of loop mounting the image).
If you are interested let me know.

Is it possible that external factors are causing this? For example, the chap

Hi!
I've got a Centos 4.5 box at work.
I recently got a new LCD monitor and since that time have been having
screen saver problems (they might have been occurring with the older
CRT too but if so I didn't notice.)
I've set it up to use "blank screen" only, to go to black screen in
20 minutes. Th
