On the following system: Linux 2.6.18-128.el5 #1 SMP Wed Jan 21 10:41:14 EST 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux the Intel 5100 pci wireless adapter appears to be detected and a reasonable driver is indicated (iwlagn) but the radio does not appear to be on, at least the little antenna like LED
