You're right, this isn't really very straightforward to do - basically
there aren't any options in the Mapslicer interface for doing this.
However, I've had a go at adding this functionality for you, there are

I wonder if it is possible to change the line width etc
settings in mapslicer (from doc, this seems not possible
easily).
I am trying to (quickly) make print-quality Patterson sections.
