Hi All,
The Australian Synchrotron has at least two new Scientist positions available
on the MX beamlines. We are seeking positive, motivated scientists who are keen
to join our growing beamlin

Dear All,
Thanks to all that sent comments/suggestions during the webcast that allows
us to keep sound and video in the best conditions.
We would like to have a few answers if you watched talks online (privately
to me, not to the list). This will allow us to report to HEANET (

Dear All,
I wonder how people currently do their long term backups. I see
DATs/DLTs being slowly dropped off at the beamlines and most people
brings their data home in external HDs.
Anyone using blue-ray or double layer DVDs for long term backups? If so
what kind of hardware? Do you use HDs

Good luck,

Dear All,
We need to ship small amounts (< 100ul, [ ] < 5mM) of heavy atom (HA)
solutions to a synchrotron for onsite HA soaking. Fedex is able to do so
but is asking for the corresponding UN numbers. All the HAs are from
Hampton Research kit. We have found the UN number for three HA but we
