Hi all,
I have a question on how to combine two dataset from different crystal of
the same
protein.
The first way I could think of is that,
1) Merge two dataset seperately;
2) Scale them to see whether they are consistent with each other enough as
indicated by
the R-factor;
3) If the R is low eno
Thanks James and all of you,
The occupancy had to be lowered to 0.25 to get the B-factor similar to the
coordinating atoms.
But now I can see a good positive density.

Dear BBs,
in response to multiple requests, the Viscotoxin A1 S-SAD sample
data (from unmerged hkl data forward) used in BMC Chapters 8,10,12
are now available, courtesy of Aritra Pal and George Sheldrick.
Use pull down 'My BMC Book' on my website, select Example Data.

Greetings. I have been using CCP4MG to create images on my Mac OS 10.6.4 and

Dear all,
Sorry for the irrelevant topic. Does any one know where to buy the uV
lamp for an Akta Prime+? This is sold by GE but it is hugely expensive
and is setting me off £579. Any way to get a more resonably priced
replacement?

Thanks a lot.
When I researched this a number of years back, both Taylor-Wharton and
Cole-Parmer techs said nearly all dewar failures were in the epoxy in the neck
of the dewar. This could not be remedied through pumping down the vacuum
jacket as the seal was breached.
They did give some advice to elongate

Dear Murugan,
at higher resolution, the Wilson plot captures mainly the contribution
of atoms with lower B-factors which leads to a systematic
underestimation of the true B-factor distribution. Accordingly, the
average B-factor of refined structures tend to be higher then the Wilson
