things so now you can pass the pod, username and password as variables to
the main script. I also have the logins direct to the port instead of via
the telnet server (because I am too lazy to type the extra expect lines even

I'm using Ubuntu as well and I'm using Konsole. You can install it
using your Synaptics.
And punch this line on your terminal command in gns3:
/usr/bin/konsole --new-tab -p tabtitle=%d -e telnet %h %p >/dev/null 2>&1 &
It works for me and I hope for you as well

This is probably the wrong way to do this but here is what I am doing:
I run this bash script to open gnome-terminal with named tabs:
#!/bin/bash -e
gnome-terminal \
--tab --working-directory=/home/x
--command="expect /home/x/routers-ipx/R1" -t R1 1\
--tab --working-directory=/home
I am unfamiliar with all the windows products you mention but the
ubuntu terminal program supports tabs right out of the box with no
configuration at all.
