Thanks for the info. I was wondering why a killdeer should be a rarity,
didn't notice the distribution map until now. I too saw the same bird, at
the same location this morning and got decent pictures as well. I'll add
them to my checklist.

This afternoon around 4:00 p.m., Joe Wetmore and I observed a killdeer
foraging along the gravel spit at Salt Point that extends far into the lake
this time of year. The bird flew off after about 3 minutes, but we got very
clear views, and also heard its call as it flew from the spit to the north.
