I went back again this afternoon, and gave myself more time to do a more
thorough scan of the birds on the lake from Allan Treman. I found ALL the
species I saw yesterday plus:
* an unseasonably late pair of Wood Ducks on the south edge of the raft,
* 8 American Wigeons (more males than female
Fortunately the Pacific Decadal Oscillation has recently shifted and the waters
are cooler than normal in that area. I suspect it's the PDO that caused this
which is a normal oscillation. The last time it was in this phase was in the
