Fortunately the Pacific Decadal Oscillation has recently shifted and the waters are cooler than normal in that area.  I suspect it's the PDO that caused this which is a normal oscillation.  The last time it was in this phase was in the 70s and 80s. Maybe there wasn't the research up there back t
