I'm new to BVARC and would like to attend the 3/11 Zoom meeting, but I
don't see the info on the website (bvarc.org) and I only joined this list a
couple of days ago, so may have missed it here as well...
Thanks!

I'm thinking of getting a DMR HT and am especially interested in
the Ailunce HD1, based on price and reviews.
What DMR radios are you using and what do you like or not like about them?
Thanks!

I went to a ham tailgate the Friday after Thanksgiving in 2001 somewhere in
the Houston area. That's where I bought my current 2M rig (Radio Shack
HTX-212) and had fun looking around. Does this tailgate still exist?

What USB cables are you using for rig control? I plan to work digital modes
and do rig control on my IC-7100 and possibly keep the power-supply and the
radio itself away from my desk and I was planning to get a 6-10ft USB A to
USB mini-B cable. I'd think it should be a shielded cable. I should also

Anyone here playing with this? I think I'll give it a try, since I'm always
looking for something else to throw on my home network ;)

I bought one of these for my dad a few years ago. I think he's still using
it. It uses a DC voltage on the coax to actuate a relay.

David,
I wouldn't think that a dipole of any kind would put too much of a strain
on your chimney. Even with the balun, that one only weighs 1.2lb (per DX
Engineering - https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/mfj-2010).
Since whatever you use as a mount will weigh more than the antenna, just be
sure t
I bought this package deal on Amazon that's worked well for me. It hasn't
seen heavy use, but has worked well for my limited use so far:

I recommend ARRL insurance - very affordable:

I just recently signed up, but I bought it after speaking to someone that
had made 2-3 claims on it over the years and they paid out with no fuss
every time.

In case you're interested, here's a cleaner link to the service manual. A
good site overall, if you're looking for a manual for your rig...

Anyone used either the FTM-200DR, FTM-300DR, or FTM-500DR and have some
thoughts to share?
I'm thinking about getting a dual-band mobile to use in my 2016 Civic

Here's a related piece of history I found when I Googled "WA5CYI Repeater"

How weird - that sounds kinda like telephone on-hold music.
