I use the CM 500 on my ICOM IC-7610 and it works fine without the extra inline
battery module. I Just had to chance the mic setting in the rig to turn on the

I spoke with someone on 94 a week or so ago that had an R7 Vertical Antenna
that was not working well. I found this website with suggestions for R5/R7

I have one and do not really like it. Audio volume is push button adjusted in
steps and thus not easy to get it to an acceptable level. Audio reports on
the mic are that it is low and not good fidelity. It is cheap and has earned
that name.
