I bought this antenna to mount on my new truck. I have a brand new Comet
analyzer. The antenna is hood lip mounted with a comet Hood mount. Whe
I'd double check the ground and make sure it's good... Have you found the
resonant spot at UHF? Where the SWR is lowest? If it's below 440, you might be
able to cut it but I would try not to do that except as a last resort...Most

Terry are you using the CAA-500 Comet analyzer? If so, then are you
using the N connector to test 70cm? The manual states that the UHF
(SO-239) connector is for everything 300MHz and below, and the N
connector is for 300 to 500 MHz. As it is, its like there is no antenna
connected to the N conn
Thanks for all the comments from those who responded. I will likely contact
some of you for more information. Current AC definitely not keeping up, but at
least we have a week of cooler weather coming up.
