Please ignore - unplugging and re-plugging it fixed the issue, and
it now shows up even after reboot.
Given that it has, seeming, showed up in both dmesg(8) and usbdevs(8)
output, and the fact that it is on an end of a long USB cable, and
I mostly use this machine remotely, I've only tried it now.
