Revised "restore Visual C 6 and newer but older VC 200X builds"
-more std C types/casts used, no more app specific "_quad_t" type
also added a 2nd patch fixing build/compile time, for gnumake on old or very
old (2000s era) Mingw GCCs for Win32. Putt
