Follow-up Comment #7, bug #63362 (project make): I posted a patch for the Git build system to the Git mailing list, to avoid this issue; that change will be needed because the behavior of the Git build system isn't really correct, although prior to 4.4 it was basically ignored. In GNU make 4.4 th
