Hello Werner,
Thanks for your reply.
Does the (bug?) report I sent get a ticket in
https://gitlab.com/lilypond/lilypond/-/issues ?
I ran your suggested - "branch regression test":
[@master, test-baseline, bytecode, @MyBranch, bytecode, check]
Indeed lots of regtests failures.

for which LilyPond 2.25.18 runs successfully
but complains with a message:

Hello Behdad,
Thanks for you note.
Lilipond - as far as I understand - does not open Hebrew shaper directly,
but rather gets indirectly to Hebrew specific code, by Pango loading
lib/pango/1.6.0/modules/pango-hebrew-fc.so
Please have a look at the report of

Dov, thanks for your input.
Lilypond is a complex system. It uses Guile and Lisp-like mechanisms.
I have neither intention nor time to master these.
In the current implementation, I cannot tell how difficult it would be
to modify Lilypond so it would interface Pango in higher level.
The main Lily
In Hebrew Lyrics, frequently diacritic (diacritical marks)
are not well aligned with the letter they should be attached to.
In Hebrew they are called 'nikud' or 'niqud' and are used as vowels.
Attached are example files of Lilypond source (\version "2.10.33")
and an annotated screen shot.
