I agree that would be nice to have a smarter support for em dashes in Lilypond,
actually I haven't tested lyrics with that yet. But would like to leave my 2
cents:
Not all languages adopt the style of em dashes tight between words. Portuguese
stylics recommend having an em dash between two spaces.
Hello list.
Apparently musicxml2ly.py doesn't recognize chords. Here goes 2 examples:
The original file converted to abc, and converted to musicxml.

Well, I think the lyric tie shouldn't touch the vowel, too. That is it would be
good if the tip of the tie would be lowered a tid bit.

Hello! To get better help, tell us the version of Lilypond you're using.
Anyway, it seems to me that somes versions were having problems with python
scripts. The first thing is to check if musicxml2ly.py is working even with

Hello Rick,
Try explicitly instantianting voices. (See the section about that in the
manual):
Instead of << { \stemUp g4 } \\ { \stemUp g'4 } >>
Try << \new Voice { \voiceOne g4 } { \voiceFour g'4 } >> \oneVoice
or something.
For aligning lyrics using lyricsto you need to instantiate voices

\context Lyrics = sopI {\set alignAboveContext = "women"

\context Lyrics = sopII \lyricsto sopranos \sopWords

I know the development team had to do some successful adaptations with the case
of the do, and I figure this other adaptation won't be too hard.

The "override" worked right, and I see why it's not a default thing.

Hello developers,
I was checking a song I had downloaded and detected that the hooks of the
dotted 8th-notes in the 2nd and 4th measure collided with their dots. See
the "c8." of the tenor (2nd and 4th measures) and the "b8." of the soprano
(4th measure).
It's not supposed to be so, right? Had thi

I hope I can make sense. Anyway the attached files will help you, giving you
a better visual idea.

Hello list,
I'm wondering if the problem with poliphony (voice overlay) with shaped notes
have been solved in versions later than 2.7.17.
When the "fas" of two different voices (e.g. soprano and alto) are together,
only one notehead should display.

Hello fellows,
I tried the 'shape note' feature of Lilypond and was disappointed to see what
happened when the stem of a triangle shape (the "do", or the tonic of a key)
note is down: it sticks out far beyond the corner of the triangle :(
Could it be fixed?
See the attached file. By the way, thi

I attached the original file (which I downloaded from Mutopia) and the midi
