I realize the website says "10.4" for the version number, but is it
possible without a lot of hassle to place a more prominent warning on
the download page?

Although it should be simple enough to set up a soft link as a
temporary fix. (Unless it's Windows, where it might be possible; I
haven't used Windows extensively for many months and don't remember.)

I would be surprised if there is an abbreviation standard enough to
state that others are wrong, or even substandard. I don't see any
solution except for picking one and making it as easy as possible to
change it if desired.

It is known to be broken.
Devs--is it possible to edit the download page with a warning that the
Leopard version doesn't work at the moment? Just a thought.
