Greetings, all.
I have recently been experiencing problems with vertical placement
of staves in lilypond-book after upgrading from 2.4.5 to 2.6.1; the
odd staves of the output are in their proper place on the page, but
the even staves

Sure, if you could install to /usr/local and have it Just Work (TM)
that'd be very nice.
But I already tried that before sending my first message and it

Hi!
I have tried to use LilyPad. It is a nice program with minimal editing
capabilities. I found, however, a critical bug in it with Windows XP.
If you resave the file, so that its length becomes shorter, the end-of-file is
missing and the length of the file does not actually become shorter. This
Hi
The command \set tieWaitForNote, seems not to work within single staff

Graham has clearly pointed out a bug. It's easier to see in the
following example:
\documentclass[letterpaper]{article}
\usepackage{graphics}
\begin{document}
\begin{lilypond}
\score { \new StaffGroup \new Staff \relative c' {
\repeat unfold 8 {c4 c c c } \break
\repeat unfold 8 {d4 d d d } \b
The solution you refer to is mostly relevant, even though you should
use the TrillSpanner object and the glyph names have changed from
xxx_yyy to xxx.yyy (which convert-ly should update correctly). The
following is the example of running trills from the manual, modified
to provide the two layouts

Is tetex-extra installation doable for 2.4.6 and Windows XP?

First of all, this has nothing to do with variables, you will get
exactly the same result using \markup{ "FOO""." } (which by the way
is equivalent to \markup{ "FOO" "." } ).
Rather, the explanation to the space can be found in the documentation
of the \line text markup command. You could for exam
I didn't see anything about this in the Changelog, so I assume it's a
bug...
When using a \mark, the horizontal placement is as per usual, but the
vertical placement is above the highest mark on that staff line. In the
example below, the "A" (\default) is above the ^5.
